First Doctor's Appointment

My first appoinment was Thursday, April 24....and it was a long day!!

I had everything all planned out for the day, I had an ultrasound at 11:30am and then I had an appointment with my doctor at 1:15pm. After both of those appointments I had people to see and things to do in Columbia. I think this day is the day that prepared me for parenthood...things just can't always be planned out to the 'T'.

I made it to my ultrasound and it too longer than they thought because they were looking at come cyst they found on my ovaries. The technician called it Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. After asking me several questions she definitely know that is what I have....nothing serious, she said that baby would be fine. But this is what has caused me to workout like I do and have nothing to show for it! Finally an answer to that question!! Then she said with many other people they can have facial hair and some other side effects....so after the baby is born they are going to get my some medication that will help me!!! YAY!! During the ultrasound we were able to see the hearbeat, which was incredible...oh, I can't wait to hear that little heartbeat!

After the ultrasound I grabbed a bite to eat...I REALLY wanted Chipotle but since the ultrasound ran long, I wasn't able to wait that long so I had a Roly Poly sandwich instead. I went to see my doctor after lunch, Dr. Morse and I love her! She is so blunt and honest and anything I had a question about she had the answer. She said everything looked great and she sent me for my blood work. Oh, the pain. Many people can not find my veins, thanks to my father, I have very deep veins. I had tried to drink plenty of fluids so my veins would pop right up and thankfully they did!!! So that wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Once all the poking and proding was over with I went to tell my mom the good news...she cried. Oh, but she was excited. I told the rest of my family that afternoon and they are all really excited. Then I went to tell Dale's family. That was fun! Debbie flipped out, his mom was SO excited, Melanie flipped out and the guys...well they didn't really act surprised...but they never really do! I think the best part was telling the family members...everyone seemed so excited and supportive and now it seems the baby is all we talk about, which is great! I'm probably going to have lots of questions...so mom's be prepared!!

I'll try to keep everyone posted on what's going on with me and baby....there's lots more to come I'm sure.

Have a good weekend!

Ashley! My doctor is Dr. Morse!! How funny- I totally love her and I love that she is so blunt but still very understanding! She is so easy to talk to you and that completely helps when you have questions or concerns.

Good Luck!
