Last weekend we spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Iowa. Grandma Linda took the trip with us and provided great backseat entertainment for Bryce! Friday was also Dale's birthday, so it was nice to take a family get-away for his birthday.
All Ready to Hit the Road!
Our trip Friday morning was interesting! We had strong winds, occasional rain..and then we got stopped for a parade through Bloomfield, IA.
They had signs...one said Class of 1969...we were worried that we would have to wait for all of the classes to pass through. But the police officer kindly stopped the parade and allowed traffic to flow through. So we didn't get to find out!
Bryce was an excellent traveler. He was happy to get out of the car and crawl around on the floor. He enjoyed playing will all of Cole and Caden's toys!
Cole and I made some corn on the cob...it was delicious!
Caden is adorable, and was so sweet! It's amazing that him and Bryce and 2 months apart in age, but so close in size!

Bryce was completely entertained with Cole's game of peak-a-boo. They had a blast playing together!
Debbie made cupcakes for Dale's birthday! They were yummy!
These two pajama boys were always playing together, and did so very nicely! Cole got a little upset when Bryce would mess up his fences, but Dale helped him get them all set back up!
We spent the rainy, cold, dreary Saturday shopping at the outlet mall while the boys stayed home! Then that afternoon, we went to the Amana Colonies, braved the cool weather, and took in Oktoberfest! I'm sure it would have been more interesting if the weather wasn't as cool. But the boys got to take part in the beer drinking...the got 35 ounce mugs...and the girls did a little more shopping.
The little boys were all bundled up in their strollers and no one really complained much at all. But I think they were all happy to be home and get something to eat where it was warm.
Bryce was all smiles...looking so big!
A picture with Daddy for his birthday! Yes, Dale thought we needed the beer bottle in just one picture! Too bad my camera died just after taking this picture...so we didn't get any without the beer bottle!

We always enjoy spending time with the Schuster family and were glad they entertained us for the weekend! Cole helped us pick out some pumpkins from his garden before we left, they are displayed nicely on our front porch. Bryce had a fabulous time and slept most of the way home Sunday.
