FINALLY....

I was finally able to get my 2 boys to cooperate enough for family photos! Dale's sister, Debbie, came over Sunday evening to take our pictures....she looked at the time stamp on her camera and we were only in "photo mode" for 7 minutes! Can you believe it??? I knew we had to be fast to keep Dale's interest, from the looks of things...Bryce had a good time! These are just a few of my favorites, they all turned out so well! Thanks again Debbie! Enjoy!!!

What a big smile...like my mother once said...a professional photographer would LOVE to have Bryce as their model...he loves to take pictures!

Baby Contest - 2009

Last week was the Cooper County Youth Fair. We spent most of our week at the fair and had a lot of fun catching up with friends we don't get to see very often. Friday evening was the Baby Contest, we decided we would enter Bryce.....just for fun!

There were 153 babies entered into the contest total. The ages were from 0-3 years. I can't remember how many were in our category...I think 13 or so.

Waiting to be judged! We were number 7 in our category!

We got to stand next to Becca and Reece, they are good friends of Aunt Erin's! Bryce liked chewing on the card with our number on it!

YAY....we got 2nd place!!!! Garrison, the prince, gave us our trophy!

Bryce really liked his trophy...he carried it around very proudly!

Mommy with her cute baby...he is at the stage of putting everything in his mouth and was more interested in watching all the other people around us!

Daddy was very proud of his baby boy!
YAY for Bryce!!

The Love of a Graham Cracker

Bryce's new favorite snack is graham crackers. He could eat the whole package if you let him. Saturday afternoon we were taking his 8 month pictures (look for post later) and he was getting tired and hungry. We gave him a snack in hopes to get 5 more minutes of of him.....this is what happened!

Umm, this one broke into 2 pieces....

I guess I could eat this one piece first ...

...and then I'll try this other piece...

...nah, I'll just shove them both in at the same time!

I'm pooped!
Can you tell he got tired fast? The eyes give it away first, but the graham cracker crumbs falling out of the mouth are the best part!

Bryce doesn't get to have too many graham crackers during the day because they make him very hyper, we don't know why, but he still enjoys them when he get to have one!

A Fun Family Weekend

Over the weekend we got to spend a lot of time with family....lots of fun for Bryce!

Friday night he got one-on-one time with Grandma Linda. Dale ended up needing to work so I got the joy of mowing the grass!! It's not that bad of a job, I just wish my ipod would work..then I would really enjoy it! I think Bryce had a lot of fun...Thank You again Grandma Linda!

Saturday morning Bryce and I went to Columbia to do a little shopping at Hobby Lobby...I LOVE that place. I got most of what I needed to work on Bryce's scrapbook...if only they sold time there too! I hope I get it done before his 1st birthday!

That evening we attended one of the Kempf monthly card parties. Of course, Bryce and I didn't play cards, but we enjoyed visiting with the family!

Bryce really liked being able to be outside....what wonderful weather for July!

Playing with Tyler...Bryce loves his cousins!
Getting very sleepy! Not long after this picture, he was sound asleep!
Sunday morning we got to sleep in a little bit. Bryce even took advantage of the day to sleep in. Dale made breakfast for us...Bryce thought he could help. I think he was just entertained by watching Dale work so hard on breakfast!

Bryce and Dale spent the rest of the morning lounging around the house while I did some housework. Bryce is working on crawling...he just hasn't gotten there yet. I encourage him everyday to crawl, but in the back of my mind I am terrified...I am not ready for that!

Are you talking to me????
Sunday evening, we were excited to get the news that Debbie, Cole and Caden had made the trip from Iowa to spend time with the family during the Cooper County Fair. In true Wassmann fashion we all got together for a delicious meal....we took advantage of the good moods from the boys and got some pictures. I only got this one...I was too busy trying to keep everyone's attention!!
After dinner we all gathered for some fun playtime with the kids. I'm not sure what they were playing, but Cole and Bryce seemed to enjoy themeselves!
Big hugs....
What, mom...are you taking pictures of me???
Then I need to smile for the camera!!!!

Too bad Daddy got in the way of that picture!

We are all gearing up for the Cooper County Fair this weekend. Of course, this will be Bryce's first time at the fair...so it will be a lot of fun for us!

July Randomness

Here are just some fun pictures of Bryce in the last few weeks. He is growing up so fast...he's almost ready to crawl. I have the video camera handy every night, I am so sure that he is going to crawl at any moment. This morning he was almost there, but took a nose dive into the carpet. Be on the look out for a video post of Bryce trying to crawl or even crawling!!!

Riding in the boat at Grandma Linda's House. We had looked over to see him with both feet propped up by the steering wheel, but he took them down when I pulled out the camera. He's looks so grown up in this picture!

Before leaving to see Grandma Linda and Papa Eddie....we were trying to get things gathered up and he just wanted to be held and with us...Dale sat him in front of the door and he loved looking outside! Too cute.
Trying to reach the toys in the very back of the basket...he was almost completely inside the basket at one point!

2009 Jr. Nationals - Tulsa, OK

This year's Hereford Jr. National was in Tulsa, OK. I think I had been planning to take this trip since last years Jr. National in Kansas City. I haven't been to a Jr. National since we went in Springfield, IL about 9 years ago - I think? So when I went last year, I really wanted to get back into showing and do it all over again. I was convinced that we would make the trip to Tulsa...and we did! Although, the week before was a little iffy...Bryce wasn't sleeping well...but it all worked out.

We left at 5am Tuesday, July 7th. We made our first stop in Springfield for breakfast. Bryce was ready to go out and stretch a little. That was probably our half way point, we were making good time that morning, we had a good traveler!
Finally...OKLAHOMA!!!!

Of course, the McDonald's over the road.
We got to Tulsa at 11:30...just in time to see David give him Extemporaneous Speech! Bryce and I stayed out of the room, I didn't want him to distract David. Earlier that morning David and 2 other Missouri Juniors competed in Team Marketing. They ended up getting 2nd...awesome!

The rest of Tuesday was spent settling into the hotel and making our way around Tulsa. Wednesday morning I got up early with the boys and went to the fairgrounds..I helped them get the heifers washed, dryed and feed for the morning. Then I went back to the hotel to get started for the day. But it rained and we didn't get to do much that day. I was hoping to go to the zoo with Bryce. He didn't seem to care......

Driving the stroller around the barns!Thursday was David's first show day of the week. He showed his bred-and-owned heifer.

She got 3rd place in her class...not too bad! The highest we have ever placed at this show is 3rd place..I got that when I showed my heifer Boomer in Springfield, Ill. So we were proud of David!

Thursday afternoon, Bryce and I went shopping with mom. We found a really nice mall that we spent a few hours shopping. Bryce got a Nemo stuffed animal from the Disney store. I was actually thinking of not buying it for him, but he sneezed on it, so I thought maybe it wouldn't be appropriate to put it back on the shelf! It has turned into one of his favorite toys!

I ended up getting sick Thursday evening and through the night with a sinus infection/allergies/cold...it just wasn't fun at all.. Bryce was already out of sorts on Thursday, I think he was just ready to go home and I was thinking of coming home a day early. After I got sick, mom decided she would just take us all home on Friday.

Bryce and David hanging out before he had to get ready to show.

We stayed to watch David show his little heifer again on Friday. Boy are we glad he did. He ended up getting 1st place in his class!!! That is so exciting for him/us.

Proud of his 1st place win!

I really wanted to holler for David after the judge picked him for 1st place...but Bryce was sleeping on my lap and I didn't really want to wake him up. I think Bryce slept through most of the show!

The price for class winners were a wooden TV tray with the logo burnt into the top. I'm sure it is proudly displayed by David at home!!

We were sad to have to leave early, but happy to be home. I know David understood, that day the temperature got up to 106...so we were really glad to be home! Next year it is back in KCMO, so we will for sure be attending the show again!

Finally An Update

I am WAY behind on updating my blog. I have so much to share. I'm going to do several posts so you don't get tired of reading... hope you enjoy!!!!

Keep checking back, we have so much more going on this summer!

June 2009

June was a very busy month for us. We had lots of birthday celebrations, anniversaries, and just lots of fun!

Erin moved to her new job in Harrisonburg, VA on May 31...Dale smoked some ribs for the family the night before they left. It was delicious and a great send off for Erin. Before she left we got one picture of the 3 kids.

Let me be the one to say...I'm pretty sure I look like the odd ball in this family! Although, none of us look alike at all....

Mom stayed in Virginia with Erin for her first week and Bryce and I picked her up from the airport on Saturday the 6th...also Mom's birthday. Bryce wasn't so sure about what to think...he just hung out in the stroller while we watched airplanes come in! We ate at Red Lobster on the way home...Bryce's first trip of many I am sure! I didn't get any pictures of Bryce...I just wasn't thinking.

On June 15th I had my 25th birthday. The Thursday before I had decided that I was going to do whatever I wanted to do for my birthday, since Dale had decided not to do any kind of big party. I was blessed to spend a lot of time with friends, family and very spoiled. Dale sent me flowers and everyone got me some super cool gifts. I don't have pictures of all of them...but I got this awesome handpainted wine glass from Melanie...it was too cute not to share.

Of course the bottle of wine and chocolates that came with it were pretty special themeselves!

I was also spoiled with a new video camera from Dale, Moppins from Debbie, Eddie and Linda got me a yard stake with John Deere figures and our mailing address on it, and another of my favorites will be listed in another post! I also got lots of cards in the mail which are always very nice. Thank you to everyone for making my birthday so special!

Dale and I helped celebrate our friend Luke's 30th birthday on the 12th. Then we attended a surprise birthday party for Kim on the 28th. Lots of fun!

Along with all of our birthday celebrations, the Wassmann's celebrated our wedding anniversaries. Our 3rd anniversary was June 17, Danny & Melanie's 4th anniversary was June 18 and Debbie & Chris' 5th anniversary was June 19. It's is Melanie and I's mission to take a family anniversary trip some year...when, we just don't know!

June was a busy month...but I don't think we would have it any other way. I can already say that they rest of the summer looks to be just as busy!
