Beautiful Sunday at the Park

It was such a beautiful weekend, we couldn't help but spend our time outdoors. Sunday after lunch we loaded up and went to Harley Park to attempt Bryce's 9 month pictures....we accomplished our attempt by getting 167 pictures! I am still working on going through them...but here are a few shots of Bryce enjoying his first trip to the park!

It sure was a great day to be at the park!
We can't wait to do it again....real soon!

2009 Missouri State Fair

Awww..we all love fair time! Especially the corn dogs and lemonades we get to enjoy while we are there! This year I was excited to go to the fair, since I had to miss last year while on bed rest. We loaded up bright and early 2 days in a row to take in the fun at the fair!

We got to the fairgrounds Saturday morning before David was to go into the show ring. We hung out for a while waiting for him to show, but got impatient and decided we would just walk around instead. Of course, we were greeted by Aunt Erin, since she was in town to spend a few days with us at the fair.

I think David was tired of waiting also...but division calf champ was worth the wait!

We walked around the fairgrounds most of the morning and then headed back to the cattle barns for lunch! David was just finishing up showing, so we were able to spend a little more time hanging out with Aunt Erin!

We probably walked around the fairgrounds twice that day. We all had a great time, it was hot, but the breeze blew at just the right times to help cool us off. The rain started as we were leaving...but we were able to get everything into the car and headed out before it really started to pour!

Bryce and I headed back to the fairgrounds early Sunday morning and made it there before the 8am start to the Open Hereford Show. Of course, when you get up that early on a weekend..you have to have a snack to start the day off right!

Just hanging out on Papa's lap while watching the show!

David even let Erin show his 2 big heifers! And she actually did better with his middle heifer than David has EVER done. I guess Erin should have been showing him for this season!

They wouldn't look at me.

There were 240 head of Herefords at the fair this year, so the wait time between classes was longer than the day before....Bryce needed to be occupied for awhile.

After the show, I took Bryce to the pig races. He had a lot of fun watching the pigs and the little boy who was lipsyncing the songs before the races.

It was a much more humid day on Sunday. Bryce and I walked around the fairgrounds for a while after the heifer show, but then left early in the afternoon.

Just ask Bryce if he is spoiled by his Grandma Teresa...he doesn't get to play with my phone...!!

The State Fair is probably our last trip for the summer. Dale is headed to the feild before long and that means that no more trips for us. But I have tons of plans for next spring and summer!

Watching the Golden Girls

Now that Bryce is mobile he's getting into everything. And since he's able to pull himself up, he's pulling up on EVERYTHING...getting close enough to see the action!

Watching the Golden Girls! At least it wasn't Family Guy - Simpsons - or King of the Hill, the shows that are normally playing at our house!

Daddy telling Bryce he should probably back up just a little!

But Daddy...I like to watch the TV!!!

Trying to make his way back to the TV!!
100% Boy...but oh so cute.....and he knows it!!!

Just Another Sunday

Sundays are always semi-lazy days around our house...we usually fix a big (always delicious) breakfast after going to church and then spend the rest of the day doing fun things together and we always have a well thought out dinner that we share together later that night. Our lives really don't revolve around food...we just really like to cook!

Last Sunday was no different, we had a breakfast of pancakes and country ham. Bryce LOVED his pancake! In our PJ's this time...
Bryce took a long nap Sunday morning and it gave me some much needed quite time since Dale had to go to the field. After Bryce's nap we played together, vacummed carpets, ate lunch and then went to tour the new Elementary School, Hannah Cole Primary. The school is very nice!

Dale was cutting clover seed on Sunday and really wanted Bryce to come ride with him in the combine. Being the stick to the schedule mom that I have become, I said not until after his afternoon nap! Bryce took his nap and when he woke up I got him all ready to ride with Daddy in the combine.

You need to have a snack before you can go to the field! We were taking Daddy some of his favorite cookies that I had baked while Bryce was napping!
Excited about getting to ride in the combine! He even dressed like Daddy...with his sleeveless shirt and all.....

Bryce had fun riding with Daddy. He sat on my lap and had more fun playing with the air conditioner vents and speakers than anything else. But towards the end of our ride he concentrated on watching the grain head move. I'm sure there will be many more rides in the combine.

Helping Daddy drive....

After a long day in the field, its always good to splash around in the bath tub! Bryce loves bath time, but is getting really good at pulling himself up in the tub...so it gets to be challenging sometimes.

I couldn't help myself...his hair is getting so long!

It was another great weekend spending time together as a family. This weekend will be no different...hopefully this weekend we will be spending our time at the State Fair!

What Do You Do?

What do you do with a boy that wants to be right at Mommy's feet all of the time?

What do you do with a boy that could only play last night if he was sitting on Mommy's lap??

What about a boy that if Mommy leaves the room and he doesn't know it and then Mommy says something to Daddy he has to cry (hard, real crocodile tears) because we finally realized she wasn't in the room with us?

How about a boy that wouldn't leave the laundry basket alone so Mommy could fold the laundry???

Just put him in the laundry basket...with the socks and he's happy for hours...well at least for 15 mintues!
Oh, I've learned to just pick my battles on somethings!

Getting Bigger!

Here are a few shots of Bryce I took last night. He is really getting good at pulling himself up to play with toys and has even tried crawling up the steps in the living room. I would imagine that in a month he's going to be all over the place and we're not going to know what to do!!

Swinging outside...always more worried about where the dog and cat are!

Swimming with Daddy!

He pulled himself up to this table several times last night, he got very close to standing a few times!

And....he's mastered the crawl! Dale was trying to coax him with the remote (his favorite toy), but once he saw me holding the camera...he was off!!! You can watch Days of Thunder in the background if you want!

The toys often get in his way...but there is no stopping him from dragging every last one of them out of their baskets, every night...guess you never know which toy you are going to need to play with!

8 Months Old!

I'm a few days behind, but Bryce turned 8 months old last Thursday.

He is growing very fast...now crawling (look for post on that later), starting to pull himself up on things, and even trying to make it up the steps in our living room. Just as the song says...Your gonna miss this; I'm already missing the times that we could snuggle with Bryce and carry him around the house and he never moved! We can still snuggle with him when he's tired, but we now we have a Curious George on our hands and he has to be in the middle of everything! He is slowly learning the word NO...we are trying to teach him what he can and can not play with in our house with the word NO, sometimes he listens and sometimes he just ignores us...I guess this is just a glimpse into our future!! But, these are the fun times and I can't wait to watch him grow in the next 4 months....BTW...we are already planning his birthday party, it's going to be a blast!

Here are a few of Bryce's 8 month pictures, he looks so grown up!!
