Bryce is 6 months old!

Hard to imagine that only 6 months ago, Dale and I were still Dale and I...but in an instant our lives were changed and it feels as if Bryce has been with us the entire time.
Bryce had his 6 month check up yesterday. He weighed 19 pounds 2 ounces and was 27.5 inches long. He is growing so much!!! The doctor said we could start baby foods and he should be at least trying to use a sippy cup by the time we go back in 3 months. We can also start introducing finger foods. It's amazing to me that he is already starting baby and finger foods!!
Here's a look back at the last 6 months.

2 weeks old, sweet sleeping baby

1 month old...a John Deere Baby!

2 months old

3 months old...beginning to be much more active

4 months old...cute cowboy!

5 months old...getting so big!

Everyday I am grateful for the sweet baby boy we have...he has brought a lot of joy and happiness to our lives. Can't wait to watch him grow in the next six months!

Memorial Day Weekend

Well, since it was a long weekend for me I was REALLY wanting to do something fun. But, as the life of a farmers wife goes, Dale was working all weekend. Bryce and I ended up finding alternative activities to keep us busy and it ended up being the best weekend ever!
Friday we spent our evening with Lynn and the boys. We ate pizza, read books, watched Handy Manny and then all 3 boys were getting tired so we left. It's always fun to hang out with the Holthus'....Chase and Parker know how the keep us on our toes!!!!

Saturday morning Bryce and I got up early and headed to Pilot Grove to meet Mama Teresa and Uncle David. We went shopping in Sedalia and it was a VERY successful trip. David and I decided we need to eat at Patricia's...yummy!!
When we got home, we let Bryce play for a while to wear him out. Mama found her tractor, I think it was David's first.
Bryce thought he was big stuff getting to ride the tractor!

Pretty cool getting to ride all by himself!

What's that say...it doesn't say John Deere!

Getting so big...even sitting up by himself!

Uncle David had to show Bryce all of the cattle he wants to buy out of the newest sale catalog that came in the mail! After everyone wore Bryce out, we headed home. I was lucky enough to get a 2 hour nap out of Bryce and I was able to get the pool cleaned. We ended up going back to Pilot Grove after Bryce woke up to have supper with the family. After supper the girls and Bryce went for a walk around town.

All ready to go...just waiting on the girls!!Sunday morning we were up early enough to make it to 7:30am mass. Bryce slept A LOT on Sunday, I guess we really wore him out Saturday. If you would have added up all of his naps, he slept for almost 6 hours and still slept all night! I was able to get the house clean while he was sleeping, which was nice!

We called Grandma Linda and Papa Eddie to come over for some supper Sunday evening. Dale made it home in time to do a little fishing before he had to cook. We have been feeding the fish for a while now, and they sure are growing!

Bryce seemed to enjoy his first fishing experience!

Grandma and Papa were able to actually play with Bryce for a while...but he was getting pretty tired!
Papa's arm looked like a good pillow!
Since it rained Sunday night, Dale was home Monday with us. We did a little grocery shopping Monday morning....yuck!!! Then we went to see Grandma Linda and Papa Eddie again while Dale was working at the hog farm. Before we could go home, we had to check out Bacon, the pig Dale has made into a pet that he wants to bring home for Bryce. Oh Boy!

Bacon

Then Monday evening we went to Danny & Melanie's for a BBQ...yummy!!

Even though I didn't get to do exactly what I wanted to do over the weekend, I had the best time...getting to spend the weekend with Bryce and family.

Graduations

We were busy with graduations over the weekend! Friday night Bryce and I braved the severe weather and went to Megan's graduation from 8th grade. Bryce was asleep before graduation was over, so I wasn't able to get a picture of Megan and Bryce together. Congratulations Megan...good luck in High School!!!

Saturday evening I went to Erin's graduation at MU...the whole family was able to sit together and cheer loud for Erin! We didn't think about taking blow horns, like some people...David is sure that we will have them when he graduates from college!!!
David looks like he was enjoying graduation!
The lighting in Hearnes is awful, this is the best picture I got of Erin.
I left just after seeing Erin get her degree to go to Dustin's graduation party. Bryce stayed with a friend so he could see the family and Dale could cook. So as soon as I got there he was hungry for cereal and ready for a little nap! It was nice to get to see some family and friends we don't always get to see.

Sunday was Dustin's graduation...it was a great day to have graduation outside!
Bryce was enjoying his time outside with Daddy!!
After graduation the family went out to eat where the kiddos were a little bit crazy!!! It went down the line..and evidently got to Bryce. He had fallen asleep and woke up just before out food came out. I wasn't thinking and let him play on the table. He flung a toy around, knocked over my cup spilling it all down my leg. Then he was just plain fussy - but Papa Eddie and Uncle Danny took care of things so I could finish eating!!! Once we got home, he was the happiest baby ever....guess he was tired of all the running we had to do over the weekend!! Good thing we're trying to keep it low key this week.

Erin's Graduation Party

Saturday night we celebrated my sister Erin's upcoming graduation from MU. Mom and Dad hosted an open house at their house...we had a good time visiting with family and friends.

Playing outside before the party began!

Bryce decided he needed a little nap before he could party with the big kids!

Sitting with Daddy and both his Grandpa's...learning about farming!
Concentrating hard......to get those toes!

Just having fun...playing with mom!

It's a long story of why we are laughing so hard...but Bryce was having a good time!!!!

Mom and Dad enjoying the party.

Do you notice the theme of the orange shirts? Erin's favorite color is orange and Mom thought it would be fun that the whole family wore Orange Mizzou shirts for the party. Erin rebelled at first, but she finally gave in and wore her shirt also!!!

Dale and Grandpa Day in deep conversation....I'm sure it was about farming!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of pictures of the party...I was too busy talking...go figure!!! Thanks to Erin, I have these to share...but I didn't get one of Erin and Bryce...I'll have to make sure and get one before she leaves.

Erin will be moving to Virginia June 1st to start work for Cargill. We wish her the very best!

First Baseball Game

Bryce and I went to David's baseball game last night. This is probably going to be the first of many ball games for Bryce. Bryce had a good time playing outside.
Umm...what was that? Having fun outside!
Playing Patty Cake with Grandma.

Enjoying a Pepsi....just like Mommy!

Happy Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was GREAT!! We spent the whole day together, just doing what we wanted to do!! Our morning started with Breakfast at Shauna Lu's with Dales family. All of the kids were in such a good mood, I wish we could have spent some more time together, but Debbie had to get back to Iowa. After breakfast, Dale and I went riding around to tour the countryside, it was nice to just take a drive. While we were driving, we got a call from Zach - he was ready to help us take the pool cover off! Well, I wasn't going to let Dale turn away eager help!! So we got the cover off and we're ready to starting cleaning everything up. It's going to take a while, but our goal is to have it ready to swim by the end of the month....hope the weather starts getting a little warmer!!

I guess the rain that we had last week, really helped my flower pots I had planted grow. I thought they were looking pretty good. These will go beside the steps of the pool deck.

We were able to see that we have some sweet corn coming up in the garden!! I'm so ready to get some fresh vegetables from the garden...there is nothing better.

We still have gobs of asparagus, but we are quickly working our way through it...we've been eating our fair share and giving away just as much.

My family stopped by to visit, but they all seemed to be a little tired from the big graduation party the night before! We were lucky to get some leftovers!! Yum.

After we got the pool taken care of, we went to see Linda and give her her Mother's Day present. Bryce and I hung out with Grandma Linda while Dale did some work at the farm.

The best part of my day was my Mother's Day dinner. Dale and I went to Snoddy's to get some fresh cut Ribeyes....I wanted to try a thick cut steak, restaurant style...so we got them cut 1 1/2" thick. Don't they look delicious....

Dale cooked them to perfection and we had the best meal we have had in a long time! We probably could have shared one steak, but it made for a good leftover dinner last night! Man, they were so good....I need to find a way to top this meal for Father's Day...ummm, I better get to work on that!

My first Mother's Day was awesome, I enjoyed getting to spend the day with my boys. I was happy the weather was good so we could spend some time outside and that we were able to see our mom's on Mother's Day.
Happy Mother's Day to all moms and grandmas out there!

5 Months Old!

Bryce is 5 months old!! It's amazing to me how much he has grown and changed in the last month. He is really interacting and doing a lot more with us.
Mom & I were able to get some really good pictures of him. It was very hard to narrow the pictures down for the post...they all turned out VERY GOOD!!

My New Hat

Grandma Linda got me a hat...it's a John Deere hat.

I love to wear my hat while I eat.
Even though my face is messy...my hat still looks nice.
Daddy found my John Deere tractor and gator to play with while Mommy and Daddy ate supper. It was fun to bang the toys around on my tray.

I really look like my Daddy with my hat on!!
It's so much fun to wear my new John Deere Hat.....Thank you Grandma Linda!
