Fun Times!

Bryce has been growing and changing so much in the last month. I have had a hard time keeping up with the blog because I'm spending all of my time just playing with Bryce and not wanting to do anything else. Here are a few post on what we've been up to!

A few weeks ago, Nathan spent the week in Missouri while they were without electricity in Kentucky. I think Bryce enjoyed having someone give him a lot of attention!

Bryce LOVES bath time now. He just lays there so relaxed and doesn't care about anything. He only screams when I take him out because it is cold!!
Tummy Time! He is getting so much stronger and is holding his head up for longer periods of time. Tummy time started out bad, but he is gradually getting more and more used to it.

Visiting The Schuster's

This past weekend we took Bryce on his first overnight trip to see the Schusters. What was supposed to be a 4 hour trip to Iowa Friday night ended up being more like 5 hours. We ran into snow about Macon and the roads started to get bad around Kirksville. Both Debbie and I had checked weather.com and they were saying the accumulation would only be 1-2 inches of snow. They ended up getting close to 4 or 5 inches of snow. We had one encounter with slick roads and were sent to a ditch, but everyone was fine and we made it out no problems. Once we got to Debbie and Chris' house we had a very enjoyable time!

Since Saturday was Valentine's Day, we took our gifts with us to exchange. Dale got me a pretty ring with Bryce's birthstone. Bryce and I got Dale a coffee mug with Bryce's picture on it filled with Heath bars...his favorite! Bryce got a homemade blanket from mom (which he got a week ahead of time because it was too cute not to use!) and Dad got him a puppy dog. Here are some pictures of Bryce on Valentine's Day.

He was too tired to smile...note the paci and tired eyes!

The blanket that I made, well tied together!

Just hanging out at Aunt Debbies on Valentines Day.

Dale and Chris stayed at home with the Boys while Debbie and I went shopping. I think they had fun. We found these cute Baby's 1st Valentine's Shirts that we dressed Caden and Bryce in. Here's just a few of the pictures we took.

Bryce's hair looks a little frazzled! Caden's just relaxing. More Pictures?Later that evening we all made dinner together. Dale grilled steaks, I made twice backed potatoes and Debbie made a salad. It was the best Valentine's dinner yet. Cole and I attempted to make cupcakes for desset. We got them made but not iced or decorated....the day got away from us and it was Cole's bedtime before dessert was served!

Can you tell which cupcakes Cole made?

After dinner Saturday night, Bryce and I crashed early...we were both super tired. Dale and Chris decided to relax in the hot tub...I think I heard someone say that Chris' hair iced up on him!! They said when they got out they had to walk fast because their feet were freezing to the deck. Those boys sure are crazy!

Sunday before we left Debbie, Cole, Dale, Bryce and I went to lunch. At the end of our meal the waitress asked if we could just leave Bryce for her tip..before anyone could say anything else Cole answered..."yeap". We asked if he would give up Caden that quick and he didn't think so! I guess brotherly love is stronger than cousin love!

We left Iowa in enough time to make it to Grandma Wassmann's house to celebrate her birthday. Then we went home to unpack and it didn't take long for this to happen.....

Thanks Debbie, Chris, Cole and Caden.....we had a great time and can't wait to see you again!

Sleeping Baby

Bryce is doing so good at sleeping through the night. So far we have had several nights that he has slept for 7 or more hours!! We recently took a trip to Iowa to see The Schuster's and he slept through the night both nights we were there!! Here are a few pictures of our sleeping baby...he's so sweet!

Wait A Minute...weren't you supposed to be helping mom fix supper?

I love to sleep with my Sea Horse!

Loves to sleep in the carseat!

All Snuggled in ready to go!

Don't let that Paci go...it might fall out!

Fighting Fire

Saturday morning Dale's mom called to tell us that his dad's hay was on fire. So Dale left quickly to go help out. They aren't sure exactly when the fire started or the cause, but we got the call about 7:30am. Around 2pm Dale called and said that they were finished and going to get something to eat. At 4:30pm when Bryce and I were visiting Grandma Linda we saw the boys headed back down the road and shortly after that we could smell the smoke again. They fought the fire until after dark. The paper stated that they used nearly 30,000 gallons of water to try and extinguish the flames. I think it was determined that they lost about 60 bales, but were able to save 100.

Everyone was exhausted Saturday night and I know Dale is still a little choked up from breathing the smoke all day. Here is a picture of Dale that the paper posted on the internet.

The picture looks like a painting with the smoke in the background!
