23 Week Update

Here's just an update on what's been going on. Still no computer yet, so I'm updating again without pictures. I'm afraid we're just going to have to buy one so I can do the things I need to do!

Baby is moving a lot! It is so fun to just sit there and feel the baby move around. Last Saturday night I felt the first really big kick. I have felt a few more since then but nothing like last Saturday. It's so cool!

Dale put the baby bed and changing table together last week. I know it's a little early but we were worried that if he didn't get it put up soon he would be in the field and someone else would have to do it and I think he really wanted to be the one to put it together. It looks nice, but of course it's not finished yet. I got the mattress bought last weekend so now I'm just waiting to put the bedding in.

I have baby showers scheduled for October, which I am very excited about. I got the registries finished last weekend. We are registered at Target and Babies R Us..that was a lot of fun. I can't wait to fill my house with little baby things ...but I'm more excited about having a baby there!

The next few months are shaping up to be pretty busy, but oh so worth it!
MU Football starts soon...that's the best news yet! GO TIGERS!

Bed Rest?

Oh, the last 2 weeks have been a whirl-wind of fun! I still don't have a way to download my pictures, but I at least wanted to update you on what is going on.

August started off a little shakey for us, Tuesday, August 5 I was placed on a weeks worth of bedrest due to some complications I was having. That morning we were headed to Columbia for an ultrasound and appointment with my doctor and I started having a little bleeding. After doing the ultrasound they found a small seperation with the placenta and uterine wall, also known as a placental abruption. My doctor said that she wouldn't have even been worried about the seperation if I wasn't bleeding, so to be on the safe side she ordered me to 1 week of bedrest. My usual easy doctor's visit turned into a 45 minute ultrasound with a lot of pushing and looking around and a trip to the lab for blood work - that vampire took 10 viles of blood!! At first I didn't think bedrest was going to be so bad, just a week to relax - WRONG - when you can't do ANYTHING it gets so boring. I was given strick orders to do nothing - no cooking, cleaning, shopping, driving - she just wanted me to lay on the couch and watch TV. I now have several list of things I thought of while lying around that can now be done before the baby arrives!

We went back to the doctor a week later for another ultrasound and appointment. Everything came back fine and Dr. Morse said that I could resume regular activity. She was sure everything would be fine but she was playing it safe to put me on bedrest - now I just have to take it easy and not do too much. I've been trying to do things in a progression and not all at once. I'm just glad to be back to a semi-normal lifestyle!

While on bedrest I missed out on a lot! My family was at the State Fair and I really wanted to be there. Dale and I had planned to go up on Sunday and spend most of the day walking around looking at stuff and watching the Hereford show. Saturday night Dale baled hay at our house, he got 175 square bales and 13 round bales...I think that's pretty good for the small amount of pasture that we had to bale up. Dale's mom was gracious enough to come over and cook the boys a meal...I really felt helpless Saturday night. Our swimming pool has some major issues now, we had finally gotten things semi-under control when I was placed on bedrest and Dale was way to busy to even worry about the pool so now it seems to be 10 times worse than it was. I think once we get the pool clean this time it's going to be time for us to winterize and not worry about it for the rest of the season.

Thank you to everyone who thought of me during this time. We were really worried about how things were going to turn out, but I just kept an optimistic mind and that helped me through everything. I just hope the next 18 weeks are easier for me and baby so we can have a healthy and happy baby for Christmas.

SORRY!

Okay, I've made a promise I couldn't keep. I have told several people that I would have the blog updated by the end of the week with ultrasound pictures, belly pictures and updates....well my blasted computer quit on me again. I'm going to try and use a computer this weekend to get things posted - but don't hold me to it! Keep checking back, hopefully I will have things posted soon.

Until then, happy blogging!
