Another Crazy Weekend

I don't think I will ever have a "normal" weekend. Things started out great and slowly turned to worse. Friday night I spent my evening watching Dale dig a trench for the new scale system they are putting in at the farm. Really it wasn't that great of a time, but I was out of the house and enjoying the nice weather. Saturday morning I did some baking, I made cupcakes, mini peanut butter cheese cakes and then had lunch with Dale's family. After lunch I went and spent some time with Tyler, our nephew. He's going to be a year old in a month and it is just so hard to believe that time has gone by so quickly. Saturday night, Dale and I went out to eat with a friend and then did a little road tripping. I ended up going home before the boys because I knew Sunday was going to be a long day. Well, it was a long night instead because I ended up getting sick EARLY Sunday morning and couldn't do anything all day. I was so upset that I got sick and had to miss church and family time. I think Dale was upset too, but only becuase I made him get up early to go get my some 7-up from the gas station! I'm feeling much better today so I'm guessing that it was something that I ate Saturday night. Although I didn't get to share all the good food I made on Saturday, Dale said the cheese cakes were good. So I'll post the recipe soon, because they are easy and fun!!

Happy Friday!

It may only be 9 am, but I'm already off to a great start this morning!! Since the time change it has been very hard for me to get out of bed in a timely manner, if it's dark outside my body wants to just be in bed. But this morning I was up (about 15 minutes early) and then of all things, my hair actually looks good - or so I think! I was able to get the tickets bought for the Taste of Home Cooking School the Isle of Capri is hosting. This school is going to be so much fun, I can hardly wait. I love to cook and I love Taste of Home, so it's going to be the best time ever! When I got to the office this morning, there was even a contract on the fax machine, which is VERY GOOD! I'm sure I sound crazy, but I just had to share!! Now, lets just hope the rest of the day stays this good!

Happy Easter to everyone.

Luck of the Irish

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Big Time Trucking!

Most Sunday's Dale and I plan to do things that we can do together because we don't see each other a lot during the week. Saturday Dale got asked to help a friend haul hay from Lincoln, MO back to the Sale Barn in Boonville. Of course, Dale was so excited about helping because he loves to drive his truck and haul things, he was on Cloud Nine all day Saturday and Sunday!!

Sunday morning we got up at 6:20AM, if you know us, we don't get up early on Sunday - ever! We were pulling out of the driveway and on the road for Lincoln before 7am! I was very impressed with my ability to get myself together that early, I even made myself breakfast!!!!! Just so you don't think I'm selfish, I offered to make something for Dale too, but he didn't want it!

We took 2 trips (Dale's 3rd trip) to Lincoln and each trip took about 3 hours round trip. It was really nice to spend the day with Dale, no one called him or me so we were able to just enjoy each others company. I think Dale really enjoyed being a "trucker" for a weekend, he kept talking about how he would love to help Shane every weekend he was able to. We were told we could haul as much as we wanted to yesterday, thankfully we had a family dinner to go to or I think we would have made 2 more trips! Although I loved spending that time with him, it was a pretty long and bumpy ride to do it anymore than we did!

Dale has already called me this morning from work telling me that working on the hog farm isn't worth it, he thinks he should just drive a truck!

Shop 'til I dropped!

I should always remember that everytime I schedule a weekend all to myself that things are going to change! I had everything all planned out that I was going to be working on some of my craft projects all day on Saturday....things just started changing on Friday.

Dale's mom called Friday night and wanted me to go shopping with her Saturday morning, I would have been crazy to pass up a day of shopping! I knew that we would be leaving early enough in the morning that I could get some of my projects done that afternoon. We left Boonville before 9am and hit Kohls...we found some awesome deals! I always forget about shopping at Kohl's because it's so far out that it's not in my usually shopping spots! Then we hit the mall and found even more good deals! We ran into Melanie and Tyler, they were shopping with her mom so it was really a family day at the mall. We were missing Debbie and Cole, but I think they were having more fun riding the 4-wheeler!

I think I was so worried about not hearing my alarm go off Saturday morning that I couldn't sleep all night so I was so worn out from the shopping and little sleep that I had to take a nap when I got home! Of course, my nap was too long and I had to rush around to do the things I needed to do before I left again for dinner!

Speaking of dinner.....oh my, we went to Red Lobster! I have found my new favorite dish at Reb Lobster and if they take it off the menu I have no idea what I am going to do! They have this Crab and Shrimp Linguini, it has a garlic white wine sauce that is to die for! If I was a rich women, I would eat there every week, just for the biscuits and pasta! YUMMY!!!!

Needless to say, I didn't get any craft projects done on Saturday but I did get to spend some time with family, and that's always the best time!

Why not....

I thought since everyone else was blogging I would start one too! I don't have kids to keep up with or exciting vacations to share, but I'm sure I can come up with something to blog about! People always say I have a lot to say, so I shouldn't be to short on words!
