1 Month Old - Already?

It is so hard to believe that Bryce is alread 1 month old! I can't believe that time has gone by this quickly. We have been super busy in the last month which is why I haven't been able to post many pictures. Here is what has been going on...

He is about to out grow his bassinet and will be moving into his bedroom before long. He likes to roll to his side to sleep and that usually casues him to hit the side of the bed and it wakes him up. So I have been trying to get him to take naps during the day in his big bed, but he never stays asleep...today, however, he his been sleeping for nearly 2 hours! I'm so excited, but sad to not have him next to me during the nights.

He is beginning to go longer in between bottles at night which is great for the both of us! I'm loving the sleep I can get.

Bryce experienced his first Christmas - he slept through most of it - but was spoiled by everyone. Here is a picture of all of his gifts...pretty good, uh?

You can't see everything, but I am most grateful for the clothes and toy box he got. I now have something to dress him in (that actually fits) and something to put all these toys in!

We are taking his 1 month pictures tomorrow. Be on the look out for more pictures from Christmas, New Year's Eve and of course his 1 month photo shoot!

Birth Announcements

I was finally able to get Bryce's birth announcemnts made and sent out...hope everyone enjoyed them. Since I wasn't able to get one made for EVERYONE, here is what they looked like.

Photo Shoot

Today my mom and I decided to take some pictures of Bryce for birth announcements and just because we wanted some new pictures. He was ready for a nap so we didn't get any pictures of him in his Christmas outfit...but these turned out way too cute to not share! Enjoy.

He had just gotten the hiccups...what a look!

First Week Home

It's been so much fun being home with Bryce this last week. I'm already dreading the time when I have to go back to work. But I still have plenty of time to prepare myself!

Here's a look at Bryce's first week.....

Taking his first bottle, just a few hours old! He took almost an entire ounce that time and he hasn't slowed down since!
We didn't have time to grab the bag with my camera in it when we got to the hospital, so we don't have pictures of him right after birth, but here he is having some lab work done.

All ready to go home.

Bryce was a little jaundice, so he had to lay on a phototherapy light (biliblanket) to help get his levels down. It never seemed to bother him...I think it bothered mom more. But he had to lay on this light with no clothes to get the full benefit, so we kept him snuggled in blankets.

1 week old and growing! It's crazy to me how much he has changed in the last week, but it's so much fun being able to interact with him a little more! He is the best Christmas gift I have ever gotten and can't wait to spoil him rotten!

Introducing...

Bryce Jeffrey Wassmann

November 30, 2008 - 3:50pm

6 pounds 13 ounces

19 1/2 inches long

Bryce was ready to enter this world Sunday afternoon and wasted no time at all doing it! Dale and I were attending a family Thanksgiving at my grandparents house Sunday afternoon, I had been having a few contractions all morning but nothing was timely so I just thought it was another day with little to no progress. So we went to dinner, at lunch and were getting ready to leave because I wasn't feeling the best when my water began to leak around 2pm. We left quickly and came home to get our bags and headed for the hospital...of course, it was Thanksgiving weekend so there was a ton of traffic on interstate. We got to the hospital at 3pm, luckily we were the only ones in there. I went straight to triage to get checked and I think they realized that I was in active labor and there was not time for that so they wheeled me straight to a delivery room. When they checked me there I was already 7 cm dilated and they said if I wanted my epidural they had to act fast. Well, fast wasn't fast enough. By the time they had gotten my IV in place and blood drawn I was completely dilated and ready to push. I was happy to see my doctor was on-call on Sunday so it was comforting to have her there. She said to me - you can have an epidural but it's going to take about 20 minutes to come into effect and we're going to have a baby in about 10 minutes. Needless to say, there was no time to waste and Bryce was born at 3:50pm (about 2 hours from the time my water broke).

Never in my life would I have dreamed that I would have had a natural childbirth and handled it the way I did. I must say I am very proud of myself and Bryce for the way things went. They said he was 3 weeks early and everything looks great. The only problem we have is all of his clothes are too big...but I'm sure we can manage until he puts on a little more weight! He has an appointment tomorrow to get checked out for a little infection in his eye, but to me it has already been looking a lot better.
I will do my best to keep everyone posted with pictures!
